DEPENDENCY PARENTING PROVIDER INITIATIVE

EnFAMILIA become a member of the Dependency Parenting Provider Initiative on May, 2008. As a member in good standing we have been providing services since then.

The goal of the Dependency Parenting Provider Initiative is to utilize the science of child development and parenting skills through evidence-based curriculums that measure change and promote positive outcomes for children and families.

Because of the nature of the child welfare system and the dependency court environment, there is a critical need to ensure that parents are equipped and able to incorporate parenting skills into their daily interactions with their children. Thus, behavioral observation rating measures and standardized, reliable and valid pre/post measures are now required to help structure and capture information about parent’s ability to generalize what they have learned in a parenting program and for the purpose of accountability at the agency level. Further, the behavioral observation and pre/post testing provide the judges and case workers with a opportunity to gain a better understanding of the parent-child relationship  and the parent’s ability to nurture and guide his or her child(ren).

As any other partner, enFAMILIA is utilizing the following for each family:

  • Evidence-based Curriculum
  • Valid and reliable pre/post measure assessment
  • Behavioral observation (pre/post) for parents and children ages 0-5 years old
